A bus shelter was completely destroyed in Belleville’s west end last night (Friday).
City police report receiving numerous 9 1 1 calls after a pickup truck smashed into a bus shelter in front of apartment buildings on Bridge Street West between Sidney Street and Palmer Road around 10 o’clock.
Police say the vehicle crossed two lanes of traffic, hit a tree and finally the bus shelter.
Police suspect a narcotic was involved and the male driver was ticketed for careless driving and had his licence suspended for three days.
