Testing and study continues by consultants on the waters of Oak Lake in Quinte West, just south of the village of Stirling.
Hutchinson Environmental Sciences has released an interim report on the water in Oak Lake.
Testing has been done at various times of the year and at various locations in the lake.
So far, it shows Oak Lake to have moderate levels of phosphorus and some organic loading.
Both situations spur the growth of algae in the lake.
However, bacteria, such as E.coli and Fecal Coliforms levels have been relatively low.
Meanwhile, the consultants expressed concern that there were too many abandoned and broken septic systems too close to the lake on low-lying land.
Testing continues.
