The federal government is again helping private sector, public sector and non-profit organizations to hire young people under its Canada Summer Jobs program.
The government would provide employers with 50 or fewer employees with funding to cover the cost of hiring people between the ages of 15 and 30.
Non-profit groups would receive 100% of the provincial minimum wage for new hires while private and public sector employers would receive 50% of the cost.
Bay of Quinte riding MP Neil Ellis says employers have until January 25 to submit applications to the Canada Summer Jobs program.
