Executive Director Christine Semark today announced that Community Living Belleville and Area has been awarded the four-year Person-Centered Excellence Accreditation from CQL | The Council on Quality and Leadership.
This award confirms that the organization embraces person-centered solutions to improve the quality of life for people receiving supports
and services.
Achieving Person-Centred Excellence Accredition shows that CLBA is committed to promoting each person’s individual empowerment and success by guiding each of them with autonomy over his or her own life. CLBA enables people to participate in the life of the community, lead
active and productive lives, and discover, celebrate and further develop capacities that lie within them.
“This accreditation, and the journey to achieving it, ensures that all people have a voice,” said Semark. “Accreditation through CQL provides a clear message about what Community Living Belleville and Area does and solidifies the agency’s core values. Using tools such as Personal Outcome Measures puts people in charge of their own lives. Accreditation ensures CLBA remains person-centred in everything it does. CLBA puts people first.”
When Community Living Belleville and Area partnered with CQL to pursue accreditation, it undertook a rigorous process to review and improve supports and services. The efforts of Community Living Belleville and Area were focused on empowering the people who receive supports to pursue what really matters in their lives, and achieve their personally-defined outcomes.
