A Quinte West woman facing a second degree murder charge has made bail.
Nicole Scardino appeared in person in Superior Court of Justice on Thursday morning in front of Justice Patrick Hurley.
She made bail after pledges of $50,000 from herself and two of her sureties and $10,000 pledges from the other two sureties.
The 45-year-old woman was arrested after a man was reportedly struck in a single-vehicle collision on June 16.
Quinte West OPP were called to a West Street residence in Trenton.
Samuel Joseph Andrews, 49, died of head injuries after being hit by a vehicle.
Scardino was arrested on June 25 and has been in custody since.
Crown Attorney Lee Burgess told the court it is unusual for the Crown to consent to bail on a matter with charges of this nature, but feels Scardino is not a flight risk and has no prior criminal history, making him comfortable with the terms and conditions of her bail.
She was released into the custody of her family.
As part of her bail conditions, Scardino is to live with one of her four sureties, and must abide by other conditions, including not to contact certain witnesses and not to be outside Hastings, Prince Edward and Northumberland Counties.
Her next court date is September 13.
