A float plane pilot was rescued in Quebec on Tuesday with the help of 424 Transport and Rescue Squadron from CFB Trenton.
RCAF search and rescue crews on a CC-130 Hercules and a CH-146 Griffon helicopter were dispatched to Lac-Lenôtre, following the crash of the small plane.
The pilot was able to swim to shore and use a satellite phone to call for help.
Due to the tall trees in the area, the helicopter crew hoisted the uninjured pilot on board and flew him to Val d’Or airport early Wednesday morning.
