A Prince Edward County citizens group fighting the construction of industrial wind turbines in the county has lost another courtroom battle.
Thursday, The Alliance to Protect Prince Edward County (APPEC) announced that a judge with the Ontario Superior Court of Justice ruled against them in its civil action against wind energy company wpd and the the Independent Electricity System Operator (IESO).
Wpd is building a nine-turbine wind farm on the county’s south shore known as White Pines.
The decision against APPEC came Tuesday.
Meanwhile, IESO has recently given its final approval for the wind farm and construction is ongoing although some municipal permits are still outstanding.
APPEC says it’s again considering its options after this latest courtroom setback.
