The City of Belleville announced the placement of three bike stations for cyclists along the City trails. These stations were initiated by the City’s Green Task Force and each station is equipped with common bike repair tools as well as instructions on how they can be used. A bicycle pump is also included at each location.
The station placements were determined through a community bike survey and the City Parks Department has installed them at the following three locations:
· Jane Forrester Park by the Bayshore Trail
· Riverside Park (Moira Street East) near the canteen and splash pad
· Riverfront Trail by the pedestrian bridge on Station Street by Lions Park
The stations are sponsored by the City of Belleville, Cross Border Solutions Inc. and the Brake Room. The Brake Room’s phone number is on each station for cyclists to call if assistance is required.
“Sincere thanks to our generous sponsors,” said Chair of the Green Task Force, Councillor Egerton Boyce. “These stations assist our cyclists in ensuring a safe experience as we grow our bike network in Belleville for everyone’s enjoyment. We will continue to think of innovative ways for cycling safety.”
