A 32-year-old Tudor Cashel Township man faces break and enter and arson charges after a fire
at an abandoned house near Bannockburn in Madoc Township early Sunday morning.
Central Hastings OPP say a man broke into a home on Cleveland Road around 11:30 Saturday night.
The homeowner confronted the suspect who ran away with some shoes and cash.
At around 3 o’clock Sunday morning, OPP were called to the fire which destroyed an abandoned house along Highway 62.
Investigation revealed the same man was involved with both incidents.
Eugene Dobratz faces charges and is in court today (Monday).
The house fire caused a massive telecommunications breakdown that lasted much of the day yesterday in the region around Bancroft.
