This past weekend (April 20-22), a dance competition was held at the Armenian Centre in North York.
Out of 11 other dance schools across Ontario in attendance, the Ireland Academy of Dance (Belleville) won the Top Small Studio at the Embrace Competition.
Many other awards were won including;
Travelling Monster Award and Top Overall Novice Intermediate Soloist to Olivia Kirkland for Mr. Melody
Best Potential Award and Overall Novice Junior Soloist to Lily Saito for Enchanted Fairy
Overall Pre-Competitive Junior Duet/Trio to Catie Yeo, Sophie Gaber and Iris Michell for A Pleasant Surprise
Overall Pre-Competitive Junior Small Group to Grace Bonn, Olivia Kirkland, Ava McLennan, Jaydyn Patterson, Lily Saito for The Village Polka
Overall Competitive Intermediate Soloist Third place – Meagan Hay for Dawn and Fifth place – Alexandra Findlater for River
Overall Competitive Intermediate Small Group to Kaitlyn Moncrieff, Kira Saito, Abby Quilty, Alexandra Findlater for The Royal Waltz
Overall Competitive Intermediate Soloist to Ruby Kawam for I See Fire
The I Believe You Award went to Tori Doran and Ranyah Kechichian for their performance in Anything You Can do I Can do Better
Just Be Free – with Grace Bonn, Ava McLennan, Ella Quilty
3rd overall pre competitive jr duo/trio

The hard work of all the dancers, choreographers and director has paid off with many awards at all competitions they have been attending.
There is one more competition on May 4-6 in Peterborough at Showplace Theatre.
