International Women’s Day may not be until Thursday but you wouldn’t know it if you visited Loyalist College’s Link Lounge on Tuesday evening.
Event coordinator Elizabeth Kryschuk says their event was about celebrating the progress of women in the workforce.
There were six guest speakers at the event, which included men and women.

Chantel Fraser, a retired Human Resources Officer in the Canadian Armed Forces was one of the speakers and says it is a great thing to celebrate their accomplishments.

Guest speakers included Fraser, a retired Lieutenant-Colonel and founder of Empowered Path Inc., Chandy Davis from Engineering Electro Cables, Dharmini Thirukumara, the CEO of Skin Theorist Co., Maddison Ellis, a deputy clerk/executive assistant, Lisa Hallsworth, the CEO of Rillea Technologies and Madhulika Potukuchi, a laboratory facilitator at Loyalist College.
Amber Darling, business and investment advisor at Trenval, says this event is the ideal way to celebrate women and their accomplishments.
