The farm of Frank and Marjorie Meyers was torn down about four years ago, and the work ongoing across the road from his house is a constant reminder of what once was.
Meyers is now 90 and says he has never cashed the cheque from the Federal Government, for the land to expand CFB Trenton, to make way for Canada’s Joint Task Force 2 (elite Canadian forces members).

Hundreds of thousands of tonnes of rock have been brought onto the property. Two hundred thirty acres of land were signed over by Meyers to the government, but he says he did not know what he was signing.
We have reached out to DND and local political officials, however Quinte News is not getting an answer as to what exactly they are doing on the property. There is also no new timeline for when JTF2 will leave Dwyer Hill for CFB Trenton. What we do know is they are building a massive stone berm that runs hundreds of metres.

Tannahill says they still hold out hope.

This coming Tuesday (March 6 at 10:30 a.m.), Tannahill has organized a gathering at the Meyers farm at 209 Meyers Creek Road, between Whites Road and Hamilton Road in Quinte West. She says JTF2 still has not come and the hope is that with enough support, changes will happen. The Meyers still want their land back.
