If Prince Edward County approves it at its next meeting, the owners of buildings used for either illegal or legal marijuana grow operations will be charged fees for inspections to insure the buildings are safe to be used for a new purpose.
Council’s Committee of the Whole recommended a fee schedule starting at $355 for an initial building inspection at a grow-op, similar to neighbouring communities fees.
Marijuana grow operations can cause physical and environmental damage to property, and qualified inspections must take place before anything else happens with the building.
