Sirens pierced a cold night just north of the 401, east of Wallbridge Loyalist Road late Saturday night.
Seven transports, cabs only, went up in flames parked in the yard of Cooney Transport on Bellevue Drive around 11 o’clock.
While many would think the location would be in Belleville, it is in fact in Quinte West. Firefighters and equipment from Quinte West’s Tuckers Corners hall responded.
Quinte West Fire Chief John Whalen says the truck fires were put out quickly, but that the area around Cooney Transport was enveloped in smoke for some time.
No one was injured. Around one million dollars damage was done. The Ontario Fire Marshal’s office will investigate
