Prince Edward County fire or OPP officials have not updated media regarding Saturday morning’s apartment house fire at 30 Main Street in Picton, but a Go Fund Me account has been posted to help a family after a 25-year-old is said to have died in the blaze.
According to Go Fund Me, Zachary Duboise lost his life.
The post, created by Abby Dunnett, reports that Juanita Duboise, her daughter, Emily Walker, and brother r old Nick Duboise made it out with minor injuries.
The fire broke out before 9 a.m. Saturday morning at the older one and a half storey wood frame house near Picton’s LCBO store.
Twenty-five firefighters from two divisions responded, as did OPP and ambulance.
The home was heavily damaged.
The Ontario Fire Marshall’s Office has been called in to help with the investigation.
The Go Fund Me account is titled: Walker/Duboise Family Fund.
