Central Hastings OPP are releasing more details about a sexual assault investigation involving a French teacher with the Hastings and Prince Edward District School Board.
On Monday February 15, 36-year-old Jaclyn McLaren (also known as Jaclyn Jones) of Stirling was arrested after an investigation involving sex offences in Tweed against young people between the ages of 12-15.
The offences are alleged to have taken place between 2013 – 2016.
On Tuesday, McLaren appeared in Belleville court to answer to the charges of: Sexual Assault on a Person Under 16 (4 Counts); Sexual Interference with a Person Under 16 (4 Counts); Invitation to Sexual Touching Under 16 (4 Counts); Sexual Exploitation (8 Counts); Luring a Person Under 16 (6 Counts) and Making Sexually Explicit Material Available to a Person Under 16 (6 Counts)
Friday, she appeared for a bail hearing and has been charged with additional charges: Making Child Pornography (3 Counts) and one count of Making Sexually Explicit Material Available to Children.
McLaren has been released on 100 thousand dollars bail and is scheduled to make her next appearance on March 31.
The Central Hastings Crime Unit, under the direction of OPP Detective Inspector Rob Hagerman, Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB), is continuing the investigation and the charges that have been laid are in relation to four known victims.
