450 layoffs reported at call centres in Belleville and Peterborough today. About 100 workers at Teleperformance at Century Place in Belleville were handed letters when they arrived at work, this morning, advising them of the temporary layoffs. The letters indicate the end of a client contract is to blame. A press release says the goal is to replace the business at both locations and bring employees back to work as soon as posible.
