It wasn’t the coldest May 31st on record in the Quinte Area, but it was very close.
An official at the C-F-B Trenton Weather Office says yesterday’s high of only 12.4 degrees was only 1.3 off the low maximum record, 11.1, set on the last day of May in 1945.
It got cool overnight at 3.9 degrees, but not as chilly as the June first low minimum record of 1.1, also in 1945.
