Freedom at last for a Brighton woman, stuck in a Pakistani jail for over two years.
Deborah Kerr, who was convicted last August of drug trafficking, was released from the prison where she’d been held since February, 2007 after an Appeal Court struck down her guilty verdict and 14-year sentence today.
She was arrested at the Islamabad airport in Pakistan after six kilograms of heroin were found in a carry-on bag near her luggage. However, she always claimed the drugs were planted.
