Two local public schools will be closing in the next two years. Hastings Prince Edward School Board trustees approved the closure of Sir MacKenzie Bowell in west-end Belleville and Bancroft Public School at last night’s board meeting. The two schools will continue to operate in their current state until June of 2011. Board Chair Carl Pitman says this is an exciting time to renew facilities and build our future…noting these decision have been a long time coming and weren’t easy to make.
