A consultants report gives Belleville city council the bad news on the multi-millon dollar price tag for needed asset repairs. The Dillon Consulting Company report shows the needed repairs to city roads, water and sewer and facilities …a staggering 75-million dollars. The road network is in bad shape, water pipes need upgrading…then there’s the 64-buildings, many with leaky roofs. Mayor Neil Ellis says the city did only four-million dollars worth of work in the four years prior to this council…but 30-million worth of projects since this council took over. Mayor Ellis says the city is repairing a dozen streets this year, plus the Sidney Street bridge and the new bridge at the Bell Boulevard extension.
