Central composting and incineration are both on the table as the Quinte Region looks at an Integrated Waste Management Plan. Quinte Waste Solutions introduced the process for developing the plan to Belleville City Council last night. Councillor Tom Lafferty, who sits on the Plan committee, says the city may not be able to ship garbage to Michigan after next year and a regional solution is needed, possibly incineration.. The Integrated Waste Management Plan will go to public meetings this fall.
