After a lot of uncertainty boaters locked in at the former Morch Marine at Belleville Harbour are getting into the water. Bay Marine of Quinte West has been cleared by the receiver B-D-O Dunwoody to do the lift-in of the 100-boats caught in the receivership action against Bell Harbour Marina. Long-time boater Sharon Vandyk says it’s sad to see a “Belleville institution” deteriorating, with docks sinking into the water. She says the former Morch site has a history of boat-building…even plane building during World War Two. Vandyk says the “vision” for the harbour site has been destroyed, and she hopes something is done about it.
