A railway crossing will be modernized and made safer in Quinte West.
MP Rick Norlock has announced federal funding of 135 thousand dollars for a 170 thousand dollar project to improve safety at a CP rail crossing on the Montrose Road in Sidney ward.
The city of Quinte West will pay 22 thousand toward the project, and CP will kick in about 13 thousand.
The crossing will see new gates, lighting, and bells. The work is to be done this fall.
