A Picton man has been charged in Alexandria Bay, New York over sales of alcohol to young people.
At least two teams of police officers, each accompanied by an 18-year-old man, checked 46 stores in Jefferson County on Saturday to verify clerks were ensuring proof of age for people buying booze.
Nine employees failed the test, including Timothy Ubdegrove of Picton, who was working at a Pizza Restaurant in Alex Bay.
He and the others were charged with unlawfully dealing with a child and prohibited sales of alcoholic beverages to an underage person.
