The province has come up with another 10-million dollars for seniors homecare in the local LHIN area which includes Hastings and Prince Edward counties.
LHIN Chair Georgina thompson says this means seniors needing health care will be able to stay at home longer. She says the home care services have been increased 50-percent. Thompson says “aging at home” is an important strategy in providing better health care and relieving pressure on hospital services.
