Central Hastings O-P-P will be keeping an eye on the traffic going in and out of one of the biggest holiday weekend events in Quinte. It is the annual Victoria Day Weekend at Trudeau Park in Tweed, featuring Kim Mitchell and other musicians, a bikini contest, and an armwrestling competition. The Detachment commander, Staff Sergeant Peter Valiquette, says security staff is hired by the park, but his officers will be nearby. He says the O-P-P usually have to lay a few liquor-related charges at Trudeau Park each year, and previous years have seen arrests for arson and an investigation into a man buried up to his neck in sand.
