Belleville Police are investigating a hit-and-run overnight. Officers responded to reports of an erratic driver, at 12:30 this morning, from the downtown area. and, as officers were looking for the suspect vehicle a collision was reported on Bleecker Avenue and Emily Street. The same vehicle they were looking for had been involved in the collision and fled the scene. It’s described as a dark coloured Chrysler Intrepid with moderate front end damage.
Police say they have been occupied with an unusually high number of stolen vehicles in the city in the last week.
