It has been three weeks since the death of a former Colborne-area woman in Afghanistan, and there’s still no indication how she died.
The body of thirty-year-old Major Michelle Mendes, who grew up in Wicklow, was found in her living quarters at the Kandahar military base on April 23rd.
Her death didn’t involve enemy action, and a military spokesperson in Kingston says the family remains unaware of the cause.
A family friend, Bill Patchett, says he believes what really happened to Mendes will never be released.
