It will be at least June before it might be known what, if anything, might happen at the “Fields on West Lake”, along the Loyalist Parkway, near Wellington. Fields owners want re-zoning to allow guest suites, a spa, and dining facilities, among other things, on the property. Some neighbors don’t want the changes, and the County’s own planning staff have recommended the proposal be turned down as the property is zoned as prime agricultural land. Prince Edward Council voted to delay a decision until it’s June 9th meeting, to allow time for the owners to discuss matters with neighbors.
