Residents along a street in Belleville’s west end had petitioned city council …some in favour of removing a sidewalk, and some against removing a sidewalk.
Last night City Council decided to remove the sidewalk on the east side of Sinclair Street from Bridge to Catherine Streets. Director of Engineering Rick Kester told councillors that even with the widening that will be done during a construction project there, the street will still be narrower than a “typical” city street. The work is being done as part of the sewage and stormwater project in that area.
