A long time leader in the Belleville Police Service is retiring. Deputy Chief Brian Harder will leave his position in late June, or early July. Deputy Harder has worked in policing for almost 35 years, 30 of those with the Belleville service. He joined in Belleville as a constable in 1979, after starting in Toronto, and rose through the ranks. Deputy Chief Brian Harder was instrumental in bringing Ontario Police College training to the local service, and was a founding member of the Children’s Safety Village.
