Workers at the Bancroft and Belleville Hospitals have some work to do when it comes to washing hands before patient contact.
Only 46 per cent of the Bancroft employees audited over the past year used proper hand hygiene in advance of seeing a patient, and the figure in Belleville was only 57 per cent.
Belleville workers washed hands 76 per cent of the time after patient contact, compared to 71 per cent in Bancroft.
Picton hospital workers used proper hand hygiene 75 per cent of the time before seeing a patient, and 83 per cent afterward.
