It looks like the biggest fish are in Picton this spring. Another Kiwanis Walleye World live-release fishing derby is in the books…and, another fishing season is officially underway on the Bay of Quinte. Volunteer Kiwanian, Andrew Ainsley, attendance was excellent but down slightly over last year. Three of the top four category winners caught their fish in waters near the Picton weigh-in station. Dick Weatherhead caught the largest fish and won the Senior Pyke division at 15.32 pounds. Rob Lafartty won the Senior Walleye with a 13.5 pound catch. Ben Lawson and Adam Bigout won the Junior Pyke and Junior Walleye divisions.
