Quinte area Registered Nurses protested job cuts and job shifting at local hospitals today. About 20 nurses demonstrated outside of the offices of the Southeast Local Health Integration Network in Belleville. Local co ordinator of the Ontario Nurses Association, Bernie McCormak, says the provincial government is to blame. The nurses say quality of healthcare could lessen with registered nurses spending less time at patient’s bedsides.
