The Special Investigations Unit is examining whether police played a role in the death of a 20-year-old man in Colborne. Provincial police went to a third-floor apartment on King Street early Sunday in response to a 911 call. The SIU says the officers went into the apartment to speak to a man, then found Cody Wilkins on the ground outside below the apartment window. Wilkins was pronounced dead at Northumberland Hospital in Cobourg. An autopsy is scheduled to be performed today in Toronto. The SIU investigates all incidents between police and civilians which result in serious injury or death.
