What started as a 15-million dollar twin pad facility has swollen into a 35-million dollar multi-plex including a pool, gymnasium, fitness centre, synthetic soccer field and senior centre in Belleville. The conceptual design of the project appears before City Council this afternoon for approval. Director of Recreation Services Mark Fluhrer will present the detailed document to council…and, if approved…it will be forwarded to the Build Canada Fund in hopes of receiving two-thirds funding from the Federal and Provincial Governments. It’s proposed most of the new facility would be built on the east side of the current Quinte Sports Centre facility.
