Wellington residents will finally be able to buy gas in their own community.
Councillor Peter Mertens says the Prince Edward County Committee of Adjustment voted for a minor variance for 142 Main Street to allow a service station and convenience store to open.
Wellington hasn’t had a gas station for several years, but it isn’t yet known how soon the new outlet will open.
The station will be operated by Robert Tomlin, who runs another service station in Picton.
