Officials at the South East LHIN open house in Picton have discussed building the proposed Family Health Team building at a location closer to the hospital.
Three LHIN representatives and two from Prince Edward County sat together at the Crystal Palace yesterday, speaking about the future of local health care and changes at Quinte Health Care.
Mayor Leo Finnegan says a group he’s involved with is trying to bring all the health care providers in Prince Edward together, possibly in a campus-like setting, but the current proposed site is near the H-J McFarland Nursing Home..
The services of the 22 doctors now serving the county would be amalgamated, and integrated services among specialists could greatly reduce wait times for patients, and costs for the province.
