A bit of a dip for Brighton’s East Northumberland Secondary School in the Fraser Institute’s annual report on Canadian High Schools.
The independent research organization says the report rates schools on seven key indicators from the province-wide tests of literacy and math skills given in May, 2008.
The E-N-S-S mark is 5.5 out of ten, down from 6.6 in 2007, and Campbellford District High School scored six, a jump from 5.6 the year before.
Kawartha-Pine Ridge School Board chairperson Diane Lloyd says the board doesn’t agree with Fraser’s way of rating schools, saying using the test results are just a snapshot in time and unfair.
