The Belleville Police Service has two new officers, bringing the force to 87-uniform members.
One constable will fill a vacany left by the loss of an officer, and the second is an addition to the force funded by a federal government grant. Chief Cory McMullan says no decision has been made whether or not the new position would be posted in the city’s downtown core. She says that would be part of the organizational review. Lindsay Briere and Matthew Couglin will be sworn in after sucessful completion of the basic training course at the Ontario Police College.
