Difficult times for school boards as they go about trying to set their budget for this year.
The Kawartha Pine Ridge School board will work towards a balanced budget, while dealing with a declining enrollment of just over 1 thousand students in the next school year, most at the secondary level.
While provincial grants for student needs will go up by 11 million dollars, most of that will go to cover increases in salaries.
Another budget meeting is slated for May 19th.
