Belleville Council is expected to give the nod to a new twin-ice pad-pool recreational facility as its choice for a Build Canada grant. Last week, at the Mayor’s Breakfast Neil Ellis said council would seek the Federal-Provincial funding on both the multiplex and a proposal for a new 5000 seat stadium and entertainment complex. Ellis says the multi-pad recplex is ready for the first of four round of applications on May 1st. Ellis hopes the application for the new entertainment complex, which would house the OHL’s Belleville Bulls could be submitted in a second round of applciations in mid-summer. Council approved both projects, in principle, in budget deliberations earlier this year.
