Preliminary work is underway to look at the feasability of a new building, to be shared by the Quinte West Fire Department in Trenton ward, and the Quinte West OPP. Quinte West’s Police Board has supported a joint fact finding effort by Detachment Commander Inspector Earl Johns, and Fire Chief John Whalen. Inspector Johns says expansions will be necessary in the next few years. The Fire Department headquarters in Trenton is also cramped, and the aging building is in need of repair.
