It’s now official. As our newsroom broadcast earlier today, the province has appointed the supervisor to run Quinte Health Care.
The Minister of Health has announced that Graham Scott will step into the job. Scott, a former deputy Minister of Health, had the same job last year with the financially troubled Kingston General Hospital. The supervisor has all the powers of the Q-H-C board and its officers. He will be following up on steps recommended in a review by Ken Tremblay last year regarding the Q-H-C’s multi-million dollar deficit. In fact, Scott made his first visit to Quinte Health care today. He says the issues will be resolved, and he will be working closely with the Local Health Integration Network.
