An American man has been sentenced to another 29 months in custody for stabbing another passenger on a bus near Tweed.
Thirty-eight-year-old Ahmed Ali Mohamoud pleaded guilty in Belleville Superior Court to aggravated assault, and a charge of attempted murder was withdrawn.
He was a given a five-year prison sentence, but his time served of 15-and-a-half months was doubled to 31 months, and was taken off the 60-month term..
Mohamoud, a former Washington D.C. resident, was arrested by Central Hastings O-P-P on Christmas Eve, 2007 after a 27-year-old man he’d been arguing with on a Greyhound bus was stabbed several times. The victim was treated at Belleville Hospital for non-life threatening wounds.
