Property and education taxes in Prince Edward County are on the way down.
The Committee of the Whole approved a 78.3-million-dollar budget yesterday, with the new Wellington arena and Picton Sewage treatment plant being the largest capital projects.
Twenty-two-point-eight-million dollars will have to be raised through taxes, up by about 950-thousand from last year.
County official Susan Turnbull says taxes on a home assessed at 200-thousand dollars will be 2,365 dollars, down by 106 dollars from 2008.
