A rally against bed closures and layoffs at local hospitals is planned for April 18th in Belleville.
The Ontario Health Coalition says communities across the province face major reductions at their hospitals, leading to longer wait times, bed cuts, program closures and overcrowding.
The O-H-C is organizing the demonstrations in front of M-P-P Leona Dombrowsky’s office in Belleville and the offices of provincial politicians in Kingston and other cities.
Quinte Health Care could lay off as many as 79 people and close 55 beds at its four hospitals as part of a 9.4-million-dollar cost cutting plan.
