Occasional teachers with the Hastings-Prince Edward School Board will get better salaries and benefits and other improvements in their new four year contract.
The board ratified the deal yesterday afternoon, two days after the 300 teachers voted in favour of it.
The contract, retroactive to September, 2008, also includes an increase in professional development funds, improvements in the management of the automated call-out system, and new language for health and safety meetings and staff meetings.
The teachers are members of the Elementary Teachers Federation of Ontario.
