It is back to the drawing board for a new sewage treatment plant in Picton. Prince Edward County Council rejected two bids from CORIX and EPCOR to design, build and operate the facility because both were well over the 23-million dollars budgeted for the project. Mayor Leo Finnegan says CORIX’s tender was 27-million dollars, and EPCOR was another 700-thousand over that. County officials will now have to decide whether to call new requests for proposals, or take other action.
